So I’m still stuck in a vortex of Not Wanting To Write and yet I am not willing to let go of my commitment to myself to post daily for January. It feels like valuable to me to show up and say something, but I think I need to revise my idea of what that something might be. I’ll keep it short.
Part of this situation is me having stuff still to process on last week’s big yuck (the as-yet-undisclosed aftershock and another ripple today) and then also trying to spend time doing other things besides being online. Like, I wove yesterday and today. Today I spent a bunch of quality time in the sewing room detangling the mess in there. So my days are a little less computer-centered than usual, which is nice.
And we’ve been doing one little thing for the house each day in the evenings. So far: wireless network finally set up (after 6 years), new towel bar, tried fixing the air hammer in our water pipes (although I don’t think it worked), moved some furniture around. Andy’s snaking the bathroom drain as I type. Later tonight, green drain cleaner. We sure know how to have a fun Friday, don’t we?
Tomorrow we go to another empathy speak workshop. I’m hoping the rest of the weekend is cozy and domestic. And I hope your weekend is whatever you want it to be!
