I’m too eager to play with my new toys to sit here and write today. To that end, here is a quick photo of the new loom:

The picture doesn’t do her justice. I’ll get a shot of the inkle loom later.
In other news, I came up with a new phrase for the accurate but unwieldy phrase compassionate communication (also known as that really awesome thing that’s very poorly framed). Here it is: empathy speak.
Empathy speak! It’s short, it’s punchy and it covers enough of the bases, for me at least. I’m digging it. Feels a lot better in my mouth than the old phrase. Communication does imply two-way action, speaking and listening, but can you really speak with empathy if you haven’t been listening with it? I’m thinking not so much. So that’s the term we will now be using here on the blog. Say it with me now, empathy speak!
And while I’m at it, let me reiterate how great this empathy speak business is working out. Current score: Empathy speak, 3; Fights-we’ve-had-repeatedly, 0.
On that happy note, I’m going to go spend the day playing with the looms. Plural!

Hey Darcy, I *love* “empathy speak”.
I’m loving that you’ve found it so helpful, and I can’t wait to take a workshop, too!
Thanks, Lisa, I’m glad you like it. I hope the workshop you attend is as awesome as the one we did.
